In the year 1996, she was a candidate for the part of Selena (the killed Tejano star) however, she was beaten out by Jennifer Lopez. Guerrido received an offer to work from WSKQ's El Vailon de la Manana morning show (Good Times in the Morning) by a producer after she was able to hear her voiceover. The producer then offered her a position by WRMA (106.7) in Miami and accepted the offer.which is one of the most watched television shows for the Hispanic community in the United States. She is currently doing the weather on Univision's afternoon newsmagazine show Primer Impacto (First Impact) with Barbara Bermudo. Guerrido was a journalist at the University of Florida. On the 19th of April, 2008, Jackie was married to reggaeton performer Don Omar in Puerto Rico.
